Vacation in corona times: “it’s already in germany”
For the past six months, the coronavirus has taken hold of many countries and people around the world, causing economic collapses and social disruptions. The travel industry in particular has suffered greatly and many long-distance trips have had to be canceled or cancelled. How much have people”s vacation plans suffered??
Kurt zink (66, altenschonbach): i am more of a campground vacationer, but because of the corona pandemic i have not made any rough plans. As a pensioner, I have vacation all year round and am not restricted to the summer vacations. Possibly I will undertake in the autumn perhaps still another moving vacation.
Erika gaubitz (70, mainbernheim): my husband and i actually had a cruise in mind this year, but it fell through because of the travel restrictions. We were already in croatia in mid-june, when the world was still in order and the beaches were not as overcrowded as they are now. We were out and about last week on our bikes at rothsee and brombachsee and will probably relax again later in bad fussing.
Daniela and kurt hinteregger (bad homburg): we are usually on the road for a week, currently we are cycling through the french countryside. We took a look at picturesque bamberg and now cycle along the mainradweg all the way here to kitzingen. This kind of vacation is relaxing, healthy and you can discover a lot of interesting things.
Hagen brass (48, ostseebad dierhagen): i didn’t have a specific vacation plan this year, because as a self-employed craftsman i tend to go away on short notice. I had first recorded a bike tour in my home state of mecklenburg-vorpommern, but had to abandon it because of the rain. Now I have visited a company in schwarzach and I cycle because of the good weather here in france. On my return trip, I will stop again in frankfurt/oder. I am of the opinion, it is nevertheless already here in germany.
Birgit schwichtenberg (52, wiesentheid): i wanted to go to meran in spring, which was not possible because of corona, now i will go to south tyrol for hiking. There i enjoy the good air and the view in the mountains and i am already looking forward to meet good friends again. I’m not afraid of corona, but I’m keeping my distance and I expect others to comply with the safety requirements as well. In sudtirol I will use accordingly for security no mountain railroads, but our goals with the car to arrive. I hope that the restrictions will be progressively relaxed, because business people and the restaurant trade will hardly be able to cope with further tightening. A return to normality would be particularly good for older people, who have largely lost personal contact as a result of the crisis.
